Participation of the UB in the Barcelona Municipal Council for Sustainability
As a major player in the city of Barcelona, the UB is represented on the Municipal Council for Sustainability and participates in the working groups that Barcelona City Council is active in this area.
Participation of the UB in the CONAMA
Within the framework of the agreement signed with the CONAMA Foundation, the University of Barcelona participates regularly in the different editions of the National Environmental Congress, contributing experts to the working groups and presenting technical communications. The OSSMA coordinates the collaboration within the framework of this agreement.
Service learning projects with the Environmental Sciences degree course
Collaboration of the OSSMA with the course Sustainable Development of the Environmental Sciences degree of the Faculty of Biology since 2017, for the realization of service learning projects by the students. The projects take the UB’s buildings and spaces as an object of study, and the campuses benefit from the results achieved.
Service learning as a key support tool for the University of Barcelona Sustainability Action Plan
Presentation at the Copernicus Alliance Conference, held in Madrid on 24 November 2015, of the UB’s service-learning experiences related to environmental management projects. This presentation was also accompanied by an exhibition of posters showing some of the service-learning projects at the Uniwersytet Warszawski on 25 April 2016.
Assessment of university sustainability policies as enablers for the development of campuses of international excellence
Study carried out between 2010 and 2011 by the “University Sustainability Assessment” group of the CRUE Sectorial Commission on Environmental Quality, Sustainable Development and Risk Prevention. It defines indicators to measure the contribution of Spanish universities to sustainability, and includes good practices. The OSSMA will coordinate the completion of the questionnaire with the data from the University of Barcelona.
Campaign ‘Are you involved?
The OSSMA coordinated the UB’s participation in the campaign ‘Stop Climate Change’, which was carried out in 2007. The communication action included graphic material to create ecological crime scenes, a website and a blog.

The OSSMA coordinated the UB’s participation in the Fundación Natura’s ‘Stop climate change’ campaign, which was carried out in 2006. The communication action included graphic material (posters, stickers and leaflets), a blog and a photography competition.
Noise map of the Diagonal Campus of the University of Barcelona
Study of the levels of external noise at the Diagonal Campus – Portal del Coneixement, by means of sonometry carried out in four different time bands. There are two versions of the noise map, from 2005 and 2014.
