This year the conference examines issues related to technological advances and their impact on democracy and putting special attention to blockchain technology and artificial intelligence (AI) regarding the media, social networks and governance of societies

Decentralization promises transparency, autonomy, and new power structures. Yet, its adoption faces technical, legal, and social barriers. Through examples in governance, finance, and sustainability, this session explores whether and how blockchain, Web3 and other newly developing digital technologies can create fairer and more participatory economic systems.
