We offer you a wide range of more than 150 official degrees, adapted to the European Higher Education Area and with affordable public prices.

University Master's Degrees represent advanced training that will allow you to specialize in a professional or multidisciplinary field, as well as start research and open the way to a doctorate.

These Master's Degrees have a similar teaching load to European degrees. They comprise between sixty and one hundred and twenty credits, equivalent to one or two full-time courses. This academic structure is designed with the aim of promoting mobility and facilitating the integration of students into the European labor market.

Master's degrees in continuing education and postgraduate courses

The master's degrees and postgraduate courses in continuing education at the University of Barcelona are postgraduate programmes with a clear focus on specialisation and in-depth study.

The main objective of these degrees is to apply the skills and competencies acquired during previous studies in professional practice, and to provide students with the necessary tools to face the specific challenges of their field of work.

These programmes also offer the opportunity to develop a specialisation or professional reorientation and allow participants to develop in new areas of knowledge or to delve deeper into those in which they have already been trained.

Language courses

Language courses

Are you thinking of coming to study at the UB or have you just arrived and you are a non-Catalan-speaker? If so, you probably have many questions about the language and culture you will find here. On this website we make a general presentation of the use of languages at the UB.

As you may already know, at the UB, as in all of Catalonia, there are two official languages: Catalan and Spanish. Broadly speaking, this means that everyone knows both languages and that everyone expresses themselves in the one they prefer. Therefore, inside and outside the classrooms, you will hear both!

Language transparency

Language transparency. The language of instruction for a given subject

The principle of linguistic transparency consists of making the language of instruction public so that students can be informed before enrolling. This commitment by the University of Barcelona is binding and, therefore, the language of instruction in which a class is scheduled must be maintained throughout the course.

Students can therefore consult the language in which the class groups of the degrees and master's degrees are taught.

This calendar establishes the semester-based structure of the teaching organisation as a general approach of the University of Barcelona, although the annual structure is not excluded for those centres that, due to their special characteristics, adopt this teaching organisation. The entire teaching and assessment period has been integrated, without separating them into completely different sections, with the intention of favouring the organisation of the various teaching activities and continuous assessment.
