Marc Teignier research on gender equality in The Economist
‘Sexism is not just wrong. It is also expensive’. On August 22nd 2015 The Economist ran an article about Latin American workforce and its effects to the region’s GDP based on the paper ‘Aggregate Costs of Gender Gaps in the Labor Market’ written by Marc Teignier (University of Barcelona) and David Cuberes (University of Sheffield). This paper examines the quantitative efects of gender gaps in entrepreneurship and workforce participation. Authors conclude that gender gaps in entrepreneurship affect negatively both income and aggregate productivity, since they reduce the entrepreneurs’ average talent. Article HERE.
