New blog entry: «Climate gentrification: rising housing demand in cooler provinces»

October 30, 2025.- RISKcenter member, Marta Gómez-Puig, together with affiliates Simón Sosvilla and Adrián Fernandez, have published a new blog entry in the Spanish edition of “The Conversation”, under the title “Climate gentrification: rising housing demand in cooler provinces”.

This blog entry is based on their paper Hot Property: A Spatial Analysis of Temperature and Housing Prices in Spain, which examines the impact of extreme temperatures on housing price dynamics in Spain, considering both direct and indirect effects across geographic space. Their findings highlight the importance of incorporating climate-related factors into real estate market analysis and the design of adaptation policies.
