The University of Barcelona to host the 38th Annual Conference of the European Association of Labour Economists (EALE)
The 38th Annual Conference of the European Association of Labour Economists (EALE) will be held at the Faculty of Economics and Business of the University of Barcelona from 31 August to 2 September 2026. This event is jointly organized by the University of Barcelona School of Economics and the Barcelona School of Economics.
This prestigious conference will feature parallel and poster sessions, two keynote lectures, three flash talk sessions, and a policy roundtable. Additionally, 2026–2027 Job Market Candidates will have dedicated sessions to present their work, receive feedback, and engage in networking opportunities.
The EALE Conference is the flagship annual event of the European Association of Labour Economists and is widely regarded as the most important academic gathering in labour economics in Europe—and one of the most influential globally.
Researchers working in labour economics and related disciplines—including education, health, migration, and family economics—are invited to submit papers. The conference brings together academics, policymakers, and practitioners to foster dialogue and collaboration.

- Deadline for submission of papers: 1 February 2026 (23:59 CET)
- Notification of acceptance: No later than 17 March 2026
- Registration deadline for presenting authors: 1 June 2026
