Abstract: I will give an overview of my research experiences into efficiency modelling using Data Envelopment Analysis. Over the years I have applied this methodology to the management of prison services, police bodies, tax offices, oil companies, hospitals, schools, saving banks, micro-finance institutions, universities, and airports. Although some equations are necessary, I will try to keep the discussion to a non-mathematical level, concentrating on the issues rather than on the complexities of the models used.
