If the lecturer or researcher is from an EU Member State (Germany, Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Denmark, Slovakia, Slovenia, Estonia, Finland, France, Greece, Netherlands, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Poland, Portugal, Czech Republic, Romania, Sweden and Cyprus) or from Liechtenstein, Iceland, Norway and Switzerland, he/she has the right to free movement and residence in Spain.
If teaching and research staff intend to stay in Spain for more than three months, they must apply for registration at the Central Register of Foreigners, where they will obtain a registration certificate and a foreigner's identification number (NIE).

Required documentation
- Two photocopies of the EX18 registration form.
- Original and photocopy of the valid passport or identity card from your country (with at least one year of validity).
- A letter with the details of the contract (you will obtain this from the Department of Organisation and Human Resources, in the Research Staff, Academic Staff or PTGAS) or an invitation letter.
- Fee 790 Code 012: Option ‘Community Resident Registration Certificate or Resident Card of a family member of a Union citizen’.
