Location and access

The UB has an agreement with the Catalan Institute of Health that provides the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences with its own building at the Hospital Universitari de Bellvitge hospital complex. Located in the city of L’Hospitalet de Llobregat, it is officially headquartered in the Bellvitge neighbourhood.

This centre provides support for undergraduate training for all the Medicine courses except Paediatrics and Obstetrics, which are taught at the Sant Joan de Déu teaching unit. It also supports postgraduate teaching activities, such as doctoral, specialization and university extension courses.

The Bellvitge Health Sciences Campus is shared by the other health science degree courses: Dentistry, Nursing and Podiatry.

It is also home to research foundations such as the August Pi i Sunyer Foundation, which conducts biomedical research, and the Josep Finestres Foundation, which conducts dentistry research.

The Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences is able to use the Bellvitge Health Sciences Campus facilities as a result of agreements between the University of Barcelona and Bellvitge Hospital.
