The UB Business School welcomed four new researchers in 2021. More specifically, two lecturer professors and two postdoctoral researchers joined the Department of Business. The new UB Business School researchers are:

Ryan Armstrong: He is a postdoctoral researcher at the Department of Business. He obtained his PhD in Business from the University of Barcelona in 2018. Ryan researches how positive change can be facilitated in organizations. His research integrates philosophy, social psychology, and business analytics to understand how organizational learning takes place in complex environments. Since 2014 he has focused on dilemmas in achieving well-being and productivity at work, and has offered numerous practical workshops on the topic.

Jonathan Calleja Blanco: He is a postdoctoral researcher at the Department of Business. He received his PhD in Business Economics from the Autonomous University of Barcelona. His research focus on the study of productivity and efficiency drivers. He is also interested in strategic management and human resources, where he has some ongoing projects. He has also developed some research on the economics of education.

Michele Girotto: She joined the Department of Business as a lecturer professor. She studied a Master degree in Business Communication at the Universitat de Barcelona and received her PhD in Business Management from the Polytechnic University of Catalonia. Michele has also studied Media Practice at the Birckbeck College, University of London. Her research interest lies in studying managerial and leadership competencies, strategy implementation, internal and external communication strategies of organizations, marketing and ICT.

Alfonso Antonio Hernandez Vivanco: He joined the Department of Business as a lecturer professor. He received his PhD in Business at the UB Business School in 2018 and he also won the UB Extraordinary Doctoral Prize for the academic year 2018/19 and the José Manuel Blecua Prize of the UB for his article “Sustainable innovation through management systems integration”. His main research fields involve management systems, innovation, sustainability and firm performance.
