Every academic year, the University of Barcelona (UB) receives a large number of students from other universities who want to study part of their studies here in a temporary stay.
These students can do a temporary stay of one or, at most, two semesters within the same academic year, an international exchange program (Erasmus+, Global Mobility or others) or a stay through an individual request.
Which are the requirements to carry out a temporary stay at the UB?
This is a summary of the steps you must follow to make a temporary stay at the UB.
1. Inform yourself at your home university about whether there is a student exchange agreement with the University of Barcelona: Erasmus+, Global UB Mobility, Global Faculty UB, specific programs with the USA, Coimbra Group, etc.
2. If it is not possible for you to participate in an exchange program, you can make a temporary stay through the individual application modality.
3. Be selected or authorized by your university to participate in the corresponding exchange program to carry out a temporary stay at the UB.
What can I study at the UB?
Each faculty has its academic offer. You can consult the academic offer and the language of teaching to find out which subjects can fit into your curriculum.
What should I take into account to prepare my stay?
It is very important that you prepare your stay well. Accommodation is a crucial issue to enjoy a comfortable stay. The UB is part of the Barcelona Centre Universitari consortium, which will help you find accommodation.
You must also prove that you are covered by a medical, accident and repatriation insurance. If you have not contracted your insurance at origin, the UB offers you several products that covers the needs of your stay.

When should I request mobility?
If you want to do a stay during the first semester of the following course or for the entire course, you must request it before June 15. If you want to do a stay during the second semester, you must request a place before November 15 of the same course.
