Process management

The scope of the internal quality assurance system for the training program (SAIQU).

The development of SAIQU in all UB centers is based on a common reference framework, which takes into account the following criteria:

  1. Quality policy and objectives: The center consolidates a culture of quality based on a policy and quality objectives that are known and publicly accessible, and also on those responsible for the SAIQU of the curriculum.
  2. Design of the training offer: The center has mechanisms that allow it to maintain and renew the training offer, developing methodologies for the approval, control, evaluation and periodic improvement of the quality of the teachings. These mechanisms additionally provide for the possible suspension of the title and attention to suggestions and complaints.
  3. Development of teaching and other student-oriented actions: The center has procedures that allow it to verify that the actions it undertakes, including external internships and mobility, have the essential purpose of promoting student learning.
  4. Academic and administrative and service staff: The center has mechanisms that ensure that access, management and training of teaching staff and administrative and service staff are carried out with the appropriate guarantees so that they can fulfill their specific functions.
  5. Services and material resources: The center has mechanisms that allow it to design, manage and improve services and material resources for the appropriate development of student learning.
  6. Training results: The center has procedures that allow it to guarantee that learning results, job placement and satisfaction of different interest groups are measured, analyzed and used for decision-making and improving the quality of teaching.
  7. Public information: The center is equipped with mechanisms that allow it to guarantee the periodic publication of updated information regarding degrees and programs.

Process Map

The Faculty controls and verifies the design and deployment of official degrees and master's degrees to ensure that the necessary requirements for their accreditation are met, those specified by the UB and those defined in the different regulations and rules, and that it also generates updated public information regarding the operation of the courses.

To carry out this task, the Faculty has identified all the processes related to university education necessary to ensure that the objectives intended in its degrees and master's degrees are achieved and has determined their sequencing and interaction through a process map.

The Faculty has procedures that allow it to control, update, identify and distribute the documentation and the data and indicators that define and generate the quality system.

The data used for improvement come from the measures of monitoring the deployment of its teachings, the measurement and monitoring of the data and indicators of the processes and the service offered and the satisfaction of the interest groups.

Stakeholder satisfaction

The governing bodies of the faculty include representation from students, academic staff and administrative and service staff, who can express their complaints or suggestions. Information on the perception of satisfaction that students have can also be obtained through the student delegation.

In addition, the faculty has a mailbox on its website to collect complaints or suggestions (LINK).

Regarding the degree of student satisfaction, once a year it takes place the "Survey on the teaching performance of the professor and the subjects" which is common to the entire UB. As a complement to this survey, upon completing their studies the students complete another one on the same subject.

Students on internships in companies, upon completing them, must complete a questionnaire in which they are asked to evaluate various aspects of their stay. The company must complete a similar one.

The faculty obtains data on job placement and graduate satisfaction from the studies prepared and published by AQU Catalunya and from the UB's own end-of-study surveys.

The procedures established in the SAIQU guarantee that the results of the various surveys are analyzed by the faculty's governing bodies to improve, if necessary, the aspects indicated.
