Qian Gao

BA at the Communication University of China in Beijing (2009); MA in Archaeology, specializing in prehistoric art (Durham University, United Kingdom, 2010/2011, Distinction); and thanks to a three-year PhD funding from the AGAUR (Agency for the Management of University and Research Grants (Agència de Gestió d´Ajuts Universitaris i de Recerca) (2013-2016) 

in September 2016 I was able to complete my PhD on “World Heritage, Archaeological Tourism and Social Value in China” at the University of Barcelona (UB, supervised by Prof. Margarita Diaz-Andreu). I was a post-doc at the University of Stirling and from the academic year 2021-22 I am an assistant professor at Durham University. You can check my most recent publications on my university webpage. I have published on Chinese and Scottish archaeological heritage, dealing with issues of co-production, authenticity, social values and archaeological tourism.
