INFRAPLUS Open Call: Apply Now for Free Access to Genetic Validation Services

INFRAFRONTIER ERIC, along with its partners MRC Harwell and PHENOMIN-ICS, is pleased to announce the launch of an INFRAPLUS Open Call aimed at expanding the characterisation of mouse models before their use. 

This initiative seeks to assist scientists in mitigating the risks associated with employing inappropriate or insufficiently characterised animal models by improving model validation. It supports the reproducibility of research and adherence to the 3Rs (Replacement, Reduction, and Refinement) by preventing the unnecessary use of animals. 

Two expert services are offered through this Open Call: 

• Comprehensive Genetic Validation Service: This service is designed to verify the integrity of genetic background and genetic alteration of mouse mutant line before its use in a research laboratory.  

• mRNA Expression Validation Service: This service aims to assess mRNA expression levels in a genetically altered mouse line to ensure the mutated allele exhibits the expected functionality.

Apply via the online forms provided on the website for each service, no later than 23 September 2025.
